From a sellers point of view, you will typically get a bit less but you sell the equipment faster and with less hassle. As for the researching on the internet, there's not one location for all vintage cameras.

Some of their box cameras had a little brassy rectangle with the brand name on it right below the taking lens. Also, some had identification on the leather handle, which seems to be missing from yours.

WEBPhotos OK to edit. Dec 22, 2011. #9. That looks like a pretty standard (albeit very nice) folding field camera from the later 19th or early 20th century. I don't believe that it is home-made. The lens looks more modern. It's a large-format camera for sure, but without a sense of scale, I can only guess at 5x7.

WEBNov 1, 2018 · The pre WWI Soho Reflex cameras were sold with Cooke, Dallmeyer, Zeiss, Ross lenses of varying quality and price but also without a lens. Sometimes you see them listed second hand with a Beck lens and that looks quite similar to one of my Beck lenses. I'm talking about contemporary listings of second-hand cameras in BJP Almanacs etc.
How to Repair Leatherette on Camera Body that's Coming Loose?
WEBFeb 17, 2016 · I have an antique Fed 3 film camera and it has a black "leatherette" (?) body that's starting to peel at the edge. I'm concerned that over time, this area will peel back even further. I was thinking that I could use Barge cement with a toothpick to get the edges glued into the recessed metal area of the body.

WEBJul 1, 2009 · Typically, there may be water stains, bent corners, yellowed tape areas, photo-album stickum on the back, etc. One 'good' marker of a real old photo is broken-off/flaked-off image due to its brittleness...especially if the photo had been bent/creased. In my opinion, any photo paper newer than perhaps 50 years will not have image flaking off ...
