One LED one incandescent - adequate voltage for the LED, so little current you don't even notice the glow on the incandescent. Two LEDs - half voltage, ain't nobody happy.

Add water, add freeze-thaw cycles, and perhaps a manufacturing flaw on one bulb, water gets where it should not, things don't work so well. Simple component failure is the other likely option.

WEBNot entirely sure why but if you have a light fitting with more than one LED bulb you might try fitting a standard bulb into one of the sockets. That's what I did and it seemed to fix the problem across all the LED lights in the circuit. I think it may be something to do with the resistance of the light bulb. It worked, anyway!

When the rope lights are switched off, they continue to glow very dimmly - visible only after dark.
