FxSound: Does it go higher than 24 bit 48,000 khz?
WEBFeb 18, 2022 · Your speakers, amplifier, DAC etc CANNOT reproduce 24bits of dynamic range and probably don’t reach 48khz sampling (which would be 24,000hz). When audio gear or your PC has a 24bit sticker or option in the settings that only means it can decode a 24bit audio file, does NOT mean it can actual reproduce it in a analog wave form.

How was the sound there? if they are very old audio/video recordings, the only way is to extract the audio track and remaster it with one of the countless tools. Similar to the state-of-the-art Steinberg Wavelabs, there are also one-click solutions, but I can’t remember the names.

WEBMay 3, 2022 · Sound Settings → Dac Properties → Advanced. I have the Default Format set to “2 channel, 24 bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)”. It only has two speakers and doesn’t have any virtual surround sound features. I don’t think it is the dac, because my sound is stereo, when I exit FxSound. I only have the problem, when I start it.
