Honestly it all depends in what you want to see. The gardens, the house and or the inn. My wife and I toured the gardens, took a carriage ride, toured the house and walked around the gardens. I would say you need 4-5 hours as it goes by very quickly.

I agree with the others --- It's not likely necessary to make a reservation because it is a less crowded time to visit. But you could call ahead the day before
