Agree with all the reviews. It’s a must see memorial to Katrina victims, but it only takes a few minutes to take it in. The benches are black and burning hot so there is no where to sit and reflect. … Full review by EllenM984

Definitely worth a visit. A somber, but peaceful and beautiful place. I wished I had brought beads to lay down, as many others had. You can get here on the streetcar that runs down Canal St called Ce… Full review by angieg545

Worth a stop on way in/out of town. Just takes a few minutes to look at the memorial. We felt safe in this area. Full review by WBJM2009
I hope I am connecting with staff from the Katrina Memorial as I would love background to share with my group. I am with a group of Presbyterians from North Central KS who will be making our 11th trip to New Orleans this year to help with rebuilding - some from our group came twice one year. Originally connected with the Presbytery of LA (you may have seen us in our blue shirts) we are now working under Project Homecoming, an organization still rooted in the Presbyterian Church. That being said, I can't believe we have not visited this memorial! I am responsible for our free night's activity and we have had some wonderful tours and experiences in New Orleans. Our plan is to visit the WWII museum this trip but, now that I am aware of your memorial, we will be there! Does the memorial have hours and is there an admission? How long would you estimate we need to view the exhibit...we do like to absorb ourselves. We love your city and have met and worked with some wonderful people, young volunteers who have now made New Orleans their home, families we have worked with to help them return to their homes and most recently new home construction for low income families. We always feel we gain more than we give. Your memorial will be a highlight for us. Thank you. Luann Miller, Concordia KS

We did not get to see this memorial as it was inside a cemetery (showing "closed"/after hours) with little to no parking around it. It is supposed to be a spiral/hurricane statue/memorial, but not a museum exhibit like we were thinking. Surprised to not find a Hurricane Katrina museum in the whole city!
