Children typically receive their first measles vaccine around their first birthday, but given the current outbreak, it's now available starting at 6 months old.

New data from Truveta shows the percentage of 6-month-old babies in Texas getting their measles vaccine in April increased by more than 30 times the prior year’s average.

Last week, the Texas Department of State Health Services reported eight new cases on Tuesday and one new case on Friday. On Tuesday, May 20, DSHS is reporting four additional cases, bringing the total number of cases during the outbreak to 722.
