Some 4,000 security forces were deployed to keep the peace in Paris as Israel's national soccer team faces France a week after antisemitic attacks in Amsterdam.

Israel's government sent two rescue planes to Amsterdam to evacuate its citizens who were injured in an outbreak of violence linked to a soccer game.

Officials said friction had been growing in the lead-up to the soccer match, with the antisemites who led the attack calling for an organized “Jew hunt” in the city.
