Arch is finally the Man (ning) in Austin. Texas starting quarterback Quinn Ewers declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft has cleared the path for Manning to be the Longhorns’ starting quarterback next season. It’s possible next season will be Manning’s lone campaign as a starter before leaving for the NFL.

Ewers, who was born in Texas, began his career at Ohio State before transferring to Texas where he started for three years, threw 68 touchdowns and led the Longhorns to two CFP appearances. This past year he held off Arch Manning, who will now take his spot as the team's starting quarterback.

Quinn Ewers was that guy. He was the No. 1 recruit, the first perfectly graded quarterback in the 247Sports Composite since Vince Young. His initial decommitment from Texas in 2020 as a high school recruit portended the end of the Tom Herman era.
