The No. 25 BYU Cougars defeated the Colorado Buffaloes 24-21 on the road in a Big 12 matchup, as Buffs head coach Deion Sanders faced criticism from fans over clock mismanagement in the final minutes.

Colorado's defense kept them in the game, giving them a chance to put together a game-tying or winning drive, but penalties and missed third-down stops came back to bite the Buffs. It was a game that easily could have gone Colorado's way, but too many mistakes against a well-coached and disciplined team often don't work out well.

Bear Bachmeier threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 103 yards before the final victory formation as No. 25 BYU held off Colorado 24-21.
