Duke Energy (NYSE:DUK) said on Friday it filed a plan with the Florida Public Service Commission to recover ~$1.1B in direct costs related to its emergency activation and response to hurricanes Debby,

Most of the money would pay for the costs of restoring power after hurricanes Debby, Helene and Milton this year, though Tampa Electric is also seeking to recover costs related to 2023’s Hurricane Idalia.

If approved by Florida, Duke Energy could raise customer electric bills by about $21 a month starting in March to help recover costs from hurricanes Debby, Helene and Milton.
