Elon Musk’s X faces steep daily fines in Brazil for allegedly evading a ban on the service there, according to a statement from the country’s supreme court on Thursday.

Brazil’s Supreme Court ordered Elon Musk’s X to pay a fine of almost $1 million a day until he stops users from accessing the banned platform in the country.

Elon Musk’s X skirted a ban of the social media network in Brazil though an automatic update of its software, an association of Brazilian internet providers said Wednesday.
