The La Porte Office of Emergency Management, citing information from pipeline owner Energy Transfer, announced the blaze had been extinguished late Thursday. The office said in a statement posted to X that Spencer Highway will remain closed from Luella to Canada Road until the area is completely secured.

With the fire substantially smaller since it began on Monday, police were able to access the area around the pipeline in Deer Park. Investigators removed the white SUV and towed i
