Before President-elect Donald Trump’s latest remarks, King Frederik X signaled his commitment to the territory in a decidedly old-fashioned way.

The monarch of Denmark Frederik made changes to the royal coat of arms so that Greenland and the Faroe Islands would be more visible on it, which was perceived, among other things, as a response to Donald Trump's offer to sell Greenland to the United States.

The three crowns that had been on the coat of arms, the royal family said, had been removed “as it is no longer relevant.”
