Charity kitchens handing out bowls of pasta or lentils remain the last lifeline for most of the population, but they are rapidly closing for lack of supplies, the U.N. says.

Food security experts say the Gaza Strip is at critical risk of famine if Israel doesn’t lift its blockade and stop its military campaign.

The world’s leading body on food emergencies, the IPC, said Gaza was at “critical” risk of famine, two months into an aid blockade by Israel.
