Hurricane Milton brought powerful winds, storm surge and flooding to much of Florida after making landfall along the Gulf Coast as a Category 3 storm

Floridians are picking up the pieces after Milton made landfall as a dangerous Category 3 hurricane and cut through the state as a Category 1 storm before moving offshore.

The storm caused at least eight deaths in the state, where some communities were still dealing with the damage from deadly Hurricane Helene two weeks ago.
