Trading has been one of the most anticipated features in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Even as two expansions (Genetic Apex and Mythical Island) chugged along the game, players waited with bated breath for trading to go live.

While players currently embark on their collecting journeys primarily through the thrill of opening booster packs, the team behind the game have unveiled exciting plans for the future – a highly anticipated trading feature. Despite being based on a trading card game, Pokémon TCG Pocket launched last year on Android and iOS without the ability to trade cards. Inside of the app, trading as been labelled as “coming soon” for the longest time with no further information, until a few hours ago.

Pokemon TCG Pocket developer DeNA shared a post on X to detail the trading feature. To trade, players will have to be Friends. Furthermore, cards being traded must be of the same rarity. An item must be consumed in order to trade, but it’s currently unclear what item that is.
