Srinagar: Encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the forested area of Ishber Nishat on the outskirts of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday, according to officials. Intense exchange of fire is ongoing with 2-3 terrorists reportedly trapped in a residential house.

An exchange of fire erupted between terrorists and security forces in Srinagar's Zabarwan forest area on Sunday, following a joint operation initiated by the police and security forces based on intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists.

A gunfight between militants and security forces erupted in Srinagar's Harwan during a cordon and search operation on Sunday. No casualties have been reported so far.

The gunfight broke out at around 9:00 am in the forest area connecting Dachigam and upper reaches of Nishat area.
