Marblehead Public Schools will reinstate athletics and extracurriculars as teacher strikes drag on, the district reported Thursday, allowing this weekend’s high school football playoff game to continue.

Educators in Beverly, Gloucester, and Marblehead are on strike as they demand increased wages and paid parental leave.

Classes will be canceled again on Wednesday for nearly 10,000 students as the teachers’ strike continues across three North Shore communities. Educators across Beverly, Gloucester and Marblehead are refusing to return to the job until a new contract is reached with their local school committees.
