Algeria's constitutional court has certified President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s landslide victory in last weekend’s election after re-tabulating vote counts that he and his two opponents had called into question.

Abdelmajid Tebboune was sworn in on Tuesday for a second term as Algeria's president, in a ceremony at the People's Palace on the west coast of the capital. It comes after the country's constitutional court confirmed his election win on Saturday.

Algeria's constitutional court confirmed on Saturday that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune had won a second term with 84.30% of the vote in an election on Sept. 7, state media reported. The final voter turn-out reached 46.
