Having debuted for the 2024 model year, the Emira is set to be the last internal-combustion car Lotus ever builds, and the brand is working to keep the ICE age engaging while it lasts.
Extended-range EVs are having their moment. And now Lotus is abandoning its strategy to become an all-electric brand by 2028 and shifting over to extended-range plug-in hybrid models starting in 2026.
Using the Lotus Eletre R as an example, five minutes of charging using this charger can add up to 88.5 miles or 142 kilometers of range. A 10% to 80% charge is said to take just 20 minutes.
