Welcome to Ask Doctor Zac, a weekly column from news.com.au. This week, Dr Zac Turner explores whether AirPods can cause cancer.
No credible studies show that radiation from AirPods or Bluetooth devices causes Alzheimer’s or other brain disorders. A 2010 study found no evidence that high-frequency EMF exposure is harmful.
However, some of these radiation waves can escape the appliance and leak into the surrounding environment. This leakage can overpower any Bluetooth signal since the latter is relatively weak.
This technological spectrum covers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, satellite communications and radar systems. Electromagnetic radiation travels through the universe, facilitating information and energy transfer.
