While nothing is confirmed, rumors of Gladiator II star Paul Mescal playing Paul McCartney in the upcoming Beatles biopics from Sam Mendes have surfaced. During an interview with Mescal about Gladiator II, I asked him what he would ask McCartney if he met him in preparation for playing him in the biopics.

The band's final recordings took place in August 1969 for 'The End' which featured on the album 'Abbey Road'. A month later, John informed his fellow members that he was leaving the band, asking for a 'divorce' from The Beatles.

"When we came, it was quite shortly after Kennedy being assassinated," Paul McCartney says in the trailer, released Thursday. "Maybe America needed something like The Beatles to be lifted out of sorrow." McCartney and Ringo Starr are among the documentary's producers, while David Tedeschi serves as director.
