It would've been a much easier feat if Stafford was traded, but now the Rams remain the biggest threat to the 49ers. Stafford hasn't been too much of an issue when the 49ers face him.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Rams have permitted Matthew Stafford to speak to other teams in search of a trade. This bodes well for the 49ers if the Rams execute this trade.
