The ‘Ultra’ moniker used to mean that Samsung is giving you the best hardware there is to offer in smartphone technology. With the S25 Ultra, Samsung decided to focus more on software, namely the upgraded Galaxy AI over major hardware changes.

Samsung has a fresh lineup of Galaxy S devices, appropriately named the Galaxy S25 lineup for the year 2025. When Samsung made that move to change the numbering to align with the year in 2020, I was a fan of that and continue to be.

Samsung calls this phone Ultra because everything is supposed to be ultra. But the regular S25 and S25 Plus have a lot of its best specs and features and cost much less.
