Carolina Hurricanes Claim Goalie Off Waivers
A familiar face is returning to the Carolina Hurricanes organization. News emerged on Saturday afternoon that the Hurricanes claimed goalie Cayden Primeau off waivers.
Both Charles-Alexis Legault and Joel Nystrom picked up their first NHL points. Legault recorded one goal and one assist, while Nystrom had an assist on the night, marking a memorable night for the two young players. “You dream of scoring one since you've been a kid, so being able to get one tonight is a great feeling,” Legault said.
Toronto led 4–2 midway through the second period but surrendered three straight goals, including the game-winner from Logan Stankoven at 12 minutes, 13 seconds of the third. The Hurricanes outshot the Leafs 22–2 in the final period and 47–20 overall.
