Kate Cassidy, the girlfriend of Liam Payne, shared a tribute to the late singer Wednesday, writing on Instagram that the two had plans to get engaged.

Cassidy described Payne as having “the kindest soul and the most fun-loving spirit,” saying that his loss makes her feel “like I’ve lost the best part of myself,” and adding, “I can’t imagine a day without your laughter and love. You brought so much light into my life.”

Cassidy, who called Payne the "love of her life," also reveals the One Direction star had plans to marry her "within a year."
