Tributes have been paid to a British couple who have died after being swept away by flash floods while on holiday in Mallorca.

Troopers said the man's vehicle was washed away in floodwaters at the Lockwood Folly River Bridge in Brunswick County.

Friends and former colleagues say Sarah Thompson and boyfriend Alexander Barrett were on holiday when they died.
