At the halfway point of the 2024-25 NBA campaign, Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers are trending in the right direction.
The Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton was in that picture. He was laid out on the stairs (it’s a unique setup here in Paris; the arena is covered by grass, and the concrete steps are cut into the side hills outside the building), wearing cargo pants and a Team USA windbreaker.
Haliburton has been red-hot to start the year. The former Iowa State star scored a team-high 33 points against the Miami Heat on Jan. 2 and followed that up with another stellar outing on Jan. 4, finishing with 27 points in the Pacers' win over the Phoenix Suns.
The Pacers had Bennedict Mathurin, Tyrese Haliburton, Obi Toppin, Andrew Nembhard, and Thomas Bryant in the game, and their jersey numbers go from 00 to 3 in numerical order. The Pacers have done it.. the lowest possible jersey number total,” the user wrote on X, formerly Twitter, along with the picture of the scoreboard.
Pascal Siakam scored 26 points, Thomas Bryant added a season-high 22 and two-time All-Star Tyrese Haliburton had 16 points and 13 assists in the Indiana Pacers’ 129-113 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.
With under three weeks to the deadline, we looked at all 30 teams to see who should be buying or selling for the second half.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 32 points and Jalen Williams had 24 to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 118-102 win over a Philadelphia 76ers team missing three All-Stars on Tuesday night. Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George sat out with injuries as the Sixers continued their slide down the Eastern Conference standings.
The Bulls star has a legitimate All-Star case. He's averaging 24 points per game, has scored 30-plus points in six straight games and he's shooting 45 percent from 3-point range, the fifth-best mark in the NBA — but Chicago still can't find anyone to take on his contract.
The Pacers are undefeated in 2025, winning all six January games. The biggest change we’ve seen is a much-improved defense. Indiana had been a below-average defensive unit this season, with a defensive rating of 114 (20th in the NBA) and allowing 114.9 points per game (21st) to opponents.
