The Minnesota Timberwolves got a huge 115-114 win over the Dallas Mavericks on the road on Wednesday, with Mike Conley turning in a good performance, which drew some funny comments from Julius Randle about his age.

The Wolves’ ability to overwhelm teams with a double-big lineup of Towns and Gobert is gone as Randle isn’t a floor spacer and isn’t a true big. He’s a wrecking ball power forward who is best with the ball in his hands.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are almost halfway through the 2024-25 season, and after 40 games, they’re sitting at 21-19, currently holding the 8th spot in the Western Conference.

One night the Wolves might primarily need Randle to be a playmaker. Another night they might need his scoring. It can be dependent on the other team's defensive look, like on Saturday when the Cleveland Cavaliers heavily utilized a zone set.
