The Pittsburgh Penguins this week headed out for the West Coast portion of their season-long road trip with, at least at first, mixed results. A win that could serve as a template for how to play. Then a loss that left the Penguins perhaps wanting to throw away the game tape.

The Penguins placed Tristan Jarry on waivers on the afternoon of Jan. 15. If he clears, the goaltender will be assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, and Kyle Dubas said Joel Blomqvist will receive an opportunity in Pittsburgh alongside Alex Nedeljkovic.

Alex Nedeljkovic became the first goalie in NHL history to have a goal and an assist, and made 40 saves as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Buffalo Sabres 5-2.

Nedeljkovic scored when he sent the puck from behind the net down the ice and into an empty net with 2:42 left in the third.

Something to, perhaps, keep an eye on if Imama - an enforcer - is in the lineup is if the Penguins seek a bit of retribution on Seattle defenseman Adam Larsson, who took a liberty on Penguins captain Sidney Crosby away from the puck with a heavy cross-check in their last tilt.
