Previously, Blizzard was famously working on Starcraft Ghost, a third-person action adventure shooter set in the sci-fi universe. That ultimately was canceled in 2006.
Blizzard is reportedly making a third attempt at developing a StarCraft shooter, with former Far Cry executive producer Dan Hay, who joined Blizzard in 2022, leading the charge.
Starcraft II is a near timeless game, so launching onto the service is going to help keep those titles alive, and if a shooter is in the works, it’s only going to seek to reawaken the franchise.
