KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — A Powell man faces charges after he struck Knox County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Dalton Swanger with a large rock or brick, leaving him in critical condition, KCSO said.
KCSO said Deputy Dalton Swanger was struck by either a rock or a brick while responding to a shots fired call on Saturday evening.
Swanger was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in critical condition, KCSO said. As of Sunday morning, the sheriff’s office said Deputy Swanger remains in the Intensive Care Unit.
