Super Micro Computer (NASDAQ:SMCI) said in a filing yesterday that it will be unable to file its quarterly report on Form 10-Q for the period ended Sept. 30 in a timely manner without unreasonable effort or expense.

Short-seller Hindenburg Research published a paper in August claiming accounting errors and unreported related-party transactions at Super Micro. The U.S. Department of Justice then started looking at the company's financial operations preliminally.

Super Micro Computer said on Wednesday it would delay the filing of its financial report for the September quarter, as the AI server-maker seeks a new auditor amid a delisting threat following its failure to submit its annual report.
