The National Hurricane Center on Thursday increased odds that a developing system could head into the Gulf of Mexico and become a tropical depression or storm, while it also kept tabs on two

ORLANDO, Fla. – An area of low pressure could develop over the weekend in the western Caribbean. Gradual development will then be possible as the system moves to the north. It is too early to tell whether this area will impact Florida. However, tropical development appears likely with this eventual disturbance.

We are continuing to watch an area of low pressure that will try to develop this weekend or early next week in the northwest Caribbean. The National Hurricane Center says some slow development of this system is possible over the western and northwestern Caribbean Sea.
