The quick-moving system that brought snow to the Philadelphia area has moved out, and now the real chill begins. After several inches of snow fell Sunday night, temperatures are plummeting. The first of two major pushes of Arctic air arrived Monday.

Mayor Cherelle Parker announced a Snow Emergency beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, in Philadelphia. As a result, all vehicles must be moved off Snow Emergency Routes throughout the city. Crews will begin removing snow from parking lanes on emergency routes and the Philadelphia Police Department will tow parked vehicles off emergency routes.
