Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has vetoed nine bills from this session with only a few measures remaining for a decision, along with $590 million in line items from the state budget. To override any vetoes,

Gov. Ron DeSantis vetoed more than $8 million in funding for Gainesville and Alachua County projects as he signed the state's $117 billion budget for fiscal year 2025-25.

The roughly $115 billion budget was $3.5 billion less than the current year. DeSantis’ action shrinks the plan even further, and tucks more into what had been $12.4 billion in reserves. Much of the delay by lawmakers stemmed from clashes with DeSantis, and between the House and Senate, over spending and tax breaks.
