In this year's ranking, small towns in the Northeast dominated for the second year in a row, including four in Connecticut: Stamford in third place, Bridgeport in fifth place, New Haven in eighth place and Waterbury in ninth place.

A whopping four Nutmeg-state towns made the top 10 in a collection mostly filled with what Zillow calls “exurbs”: Smaller towns situated beyond the suburbs yet within distance of a major metropolitan area.
