Ford Motor, hedaded CEO Jim Farley, is calling the majority of its salaried workforce back to the office four days a week, the automaker’s latest effort to boost employee and company performance.

Ford has recalled more than 1.3 million vehicles over a series of major safety issues, including one that could cause a sudden loss of braking while driving.

NHTSA documents show Ford is recalling nearly half a million 2016 and 2017 model year Explorer SUVs because a piece of the exterior trim on the B-pillar could become loose and detach while driving.

Those 81 recalls have affected over four million vehicles, and Ford has issued a recall every 2.12 days so far in 2025, on average. For each recall, an average of over 50,000 vehicles are affected.
