MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan says she plans to run for Sen. Tina Smith's Senate seat following Smith's earlier announcement she would not seek reelection in 2026.

The announcement comes shortly after current Senator Tina Smith (DFL) announce she will not seek re-election in 2026.
