Hamas said it will release Israeli hostages as initially planned after holding “positive” talks with mediators, according to a statement by the militant group on Thursday.

Hamas said it would free more hostages this weekend in line with the timetable agreed in the cease-fire with Israel three days after triggering a crisis by announcing it was suspending releases.

Hamas said Thursday it would go ahead with the release of three more Israeli hostages, paving the way toward resolving a major dispute over the ceasefire deal in the Gaza Strip.
