Strictly Come Dancing star Neil Jones has shared an update on Amy Dowden's future on the show, after she was forced to pull out of the competition due to a foot injury

Professional dancer Amy Dowden is eager to get back on Strictly Come Dancing before the season wraps up. Her spokesperson said that while Amy was desperately upset to have to pull out of the show because of a foot injury, she was expected to make a full recovery within the next few weeks.

Strictly Come Dancing has eliminated its fifth celebrity contestant from the 2024 series. BBC One’s popular dance competition continued on Saturday (26 October) night with its Halloween special, which saw the 11 celebrity contestants and their partners transform into ghoulish characters for their spooky season-inspired routines.

The Welsh dancer, who is partnered with JLS singer JB Gill, fell ill during the filming of last week’s live show (26 October). An ambulance was summoned to Elstree Studios in Borehamwood and the 34-year-old was taken to hospital. A spokesperson for the dancer later said that the ambulance was “just a precaution”.

Sadly, Amy Dowden MBE will not be partaking in the rest of the competition this year. Whilst Amy focuses on her recovery following a foot injury, fellow Professional Dancer, Lauren Oakley, will step in as JB’s dance partner.
