There’s more than meets the eye at the box office this weekend. Paramount and Hasbro’s “Transformers One,” the franchise’s first fully animated film since 1986, has made $3.36 million in Thursday previews at the box office.

Not only is it the first feature-length animated movie starring the Robots in Disguise since 1986’s Transformers: The Movie, it’s also one set far earlier in the Transformers timeline. Rather than taking place on Earth,
