A powerful storm system is pummeling Hawaii Thursday with flash flooding, damaging wind gusts, severe thunderstorms – and even blizzard-like conditions to the high mountain peaks – that has left thousands without power,

Potentially damaging southwest wind, a risk for severe thunderstorms, flash flooding and heavy snow on the peaks of the Big Island’s volcanoes are all in the forecast.

A powerful storm system will produce heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and rough waves throughout the Hawaiian Islands for the remainder of the workweek.
