One former Texas Longhorns five-star signee is still in the news. Now ex-Washington Huskies wide receiver Johntay Cook II has reportedly not been released from a letter of intent to play for the Huskies after being removed from the team.

Former 5-star Texas WR Johntay Cook has been dismissed by his new team the Washington Huskies just 17 days after signing in Seattle.

Cook left the Texas program during the season and committed to Washington on December 28, but is already parting ways with the Huskies.

Cook left the Longhorns program in the middle of the 2024 season, a move that head coach Steve Sarkisian said was "mutual." Cook then joined the Washington Huskies in the December transfer portal window,

Cook, who entered the transfer portal in November after parting ways with Texas, has now reportedly left Washington just weeks after transferring. The former five-star recruit signed with Texas in 2023 as one of the program's star-studded recruits alongside quarterback Arch Manning. However, Cook saw his playing time dwindle this season.
