More than 1 million Michigan voters have cast their ballots with only two weeks left until the November general election. In total, nearly 16 percent of the state’s active registered voters – or roughly 1.1 million people – have completed and returned an absentee ballot as of Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Michigan voters who haven't returned their absentee ballots yet need to get them in the mail soon to make sure they arrive by election day.

To be counted, absentee ballots sent from within the United States must be received by local clerks no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 5.

With three weeks until the Nov. 5 election, almost a third of the more than 2.1 million registered voters in Michigan who have requested an absentee ballot have already turned it in. Meanwhile, early voting in Michigan will begin as early as Saturday in select communities,
