In Bihar's Nawada district, around 80 houses in a Mahadalit settlement were set ablaze by local goons on Wednesday. The incident occurred in the Mufassil police station area, where the attackers also opened fire.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar condemned the incident in Nawada and emphasised the need to “apprehend all suspects as quickly as possible” and stressed that “those who take the law into their own hands must be caught and punished.
