Authorities suspend active search for 2 teens on Oahu’s North Shore
A multiagency search was suspended Tuesday after four days of searching for two Mililani teens who went missing on Oahu’s North Shore. Samantha Chun, 17, and Joseph “Joey” Fujioka, 18, were reported missing after they failed to return home Friday night.

The National Weather Service had a high surf warning posted since yesterday for north facing shores. Ke Iki also has a reputation for being dangerous, as it claimed two lives earlier this winter. “Ke Iki beach: It’s dangerous, it’s deadly, it’s not a good swimming beach. Go to a beach where we have lifeguards,” Tinneny said.

Officials said human remains were found Saturday afternoon, but it’s unclear if the remains are related to the search for Samantha Chun and Joey Fujioka.
Search continues for missing teens on Oahu's North Shore
HONOLULU (Island News) -- First responders resumed their search Sunday morning for 17-year old Samantha Chun and 18-year old Joseph Fujioka. They were last seen at a Mililani convenience store on Friday. Their belongings were found at Ke iki beach on the North Shore of Oahu Saturday morning.

Honolulu Ocean Safety, along with the Honolulu Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard. continued searching for two missing teens today on Oahu’s North Shore on Ke Iki Beach near Sharks Cove, according to the Honolulu Emergency Services Department.

The search comes after two Mililani teens did not come home after a Friday night beach date. The state has been working on reuniting homeless individuals with their mainland families, to make more rome for local homeless resources.
