Police said a male student shot two people at the high school on Wednesday morning before turning the gun on himself.

WSMV4 Investigates reports that in Henderon’s online diary, he wrote on Jan. 10, 2025, “I had my house raided once they found a gun it was mine LOL. My dad took the blame.”

A 16-year-old female student was killed, another student was wounded, and the shooter—a 17-year-old male student—killed himself, per police.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The 17-year-old male Antioch High School student who shot and killed one of his female classmates, injured another male student, and then turned the gun on himself on Wednesday had a 288-page online diary indicating he idolized notorious mass murderers.

A teenager opened fire at Antioch High School Wednesday killing a student and leaving a mourning community that has already seen two mass shooting incidents in recent years.

One 16-year-old girl named Josselin Corea Escalante was killed, and two other students were injured. The injured students were taken to Vanderbilt Pediatrics for medical attention. The shooter shot himself and died from the self-inflicted wound.

Antioch High School is located in Nashville's Antioch neighborhood, approximately 17 miles southeast of Downtown Nashville.

A district official said the system failed to detect the shooter's handgun because of where cameras were in the school.
