As snow fills in across Middle Tennessee, conditions will deteriorate fast. Bottom line: Be where you want to be Friday morning. Expect a range of 3-5” near the Tenn./Ky. border with slightly higher amounts as you head more into Middle Tennessee.

Timing … The singer, model and daughter of Michael Jackson wrote that being "thankful would be a poor euphemism." Right now, we are still 48 hours away from the winter event, but as we get closer, it is likely to be upgraded to a Winter Weather Advisory or a Winter Storm Warning.

Snow continues through tonight. Current data has a 1 to 4 inch snow area wide by tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will be blustery in some towns with a west wind at 10-20 mph. Lake effect snow showers will be in the area. Locally over 2 inches of additional snow where snow bands persist. Afternoon temperatures around 30 degrees.

Bitterly cold wind chills are expected today. Snow showers will leave a light slippery accumulation Friday night.

We have a couple chances for scattered snow over the next week or so, but snowfall will be fairly light both times.
