Algeria's constitutional court has certified President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s landslide victory in last weekend’s election after re-tabulating vote counts that he and his two opponents had called into question.

Algeria's constitutional court confirmed on Saturday that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune had won a second term with 84.30% of the vote in an election on Sept. 7, state media reported. The final voter turn-out reached 46.

Algeria's electoral authority is set to announce later Sunday presidential poll results which incumbent Abdelmadjid Tebboune is expected to breeze through, amid accusations of efforts to "inflate results".

Analysis: Since returning to the world stage following a 10-year civil war, Palestine and Western Sahara have been cornerstones of Algeria's foreign policy.
